SLS, Pune, organized its second Annual National Conference on 5th of October 2013. Justice Pradeep Nandrajog, Judge, Delhi High Court; Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, Judge, Delhi High Court; Professor Dr. Ishwar Bhat, Vice Chancellor, WBNUJS, Kolkata; Dr. S. C. Raina, Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi; Advocate Sampath Bulusu, Head, Regulatory Compliance, Transocean, Mumbai; Dr. Durgambini Patel, Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Pune; Professor Sunder Ram Korivi, Dean, School for Securities Education and School for Securities Information and Research and Dr. Aravind Chinchore, Assistant Vice President, Innovations, Reliance Innovation Leadership Centre, graced the occasion along with Dr. Rajni Gupte, the Pro- Vice Chancellor, SIU and Dr. Gurpur.
Justice Nandrajog, the Key Note Speaker stressed on the importance of research. Guest of Honour, Justice Bhat, said that research should have more of critical analysis. Prof. Dr. Ishwar Bhat centred his address upon the deep-seated need for new levels of critical analysis in research. Research paper presentations were divided into four tracks namely, Public Law & Governance, Intellectual Property Rights, Business Laws and International Law & Human Rights.
Mr. Nadeem Ali Haider Khan of Gujarat National Law University won the First Merit Certificate for his research paper on ‘Law and Loss of Identity, Culture and Livelihood: The Denotified Tribes of Karnataka, India’. Mr. Munnazar Ahmed and Mr. A Sarvanan, research scholars, SLS, Pune, won the second and third prize respectively.
